We are deskilling genomic engineering in bacteria. Here you can read about how we develop tools that make it easy to edit a bacterial genome sequence on the computer and then physically introduce those changes to a bacterial genophore (commonly called a chromosome). Tool development is important because it will dramatically speed up learning cycles as genomicists learn to write in the language of DNA. We want to document our progress along the way and share it with you: welcome!
